Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Suffolk born and bred with a deep interest in the past, comes to Butley Priory to talk about the battle of Agincourt, a famous English victory in the Hundred Years War during which Michael de la Pole, 3rd Earl of Suffolk was killed. There is a legend that he is buried in a silver coffin somewhere in the grounds of Butley Priory but it has yet to be found!
Jamie grew up at Alderton and now lives across the fields from Sutton Hoo. For 20 years he was an officer in the British Army and subsequently Principal Private Secretary to the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. He is an ambassador for the HALO Trust, the world’s largest humanitarian mine-clearance charity and Waterloo Uncovered a charity engaged in the excavation of the battlefield of Waterloo
