Philip Webster in conversation with Martin Fletcher. From Heath to Brexit: A Look Back at Four Tumultuous Decades of British Politics

February 28 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm

Philip Webster was on the political staff of The Times for more than 40 years. He rose to become Political Editor, a post that he held for a record 18 years and gave his unique access to Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. In conversation with Martin Fletcher, he will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of those prime ministers, his involvement in the more dramatic moments of their premierships and what really went on behind the scenes at Number 10.

Philip Webster joined the political staff of The Times in 1973 and served as Political Editor from 1992 to 2010. He is the author of ‘Inside Story: Politics, Intrigue and Treachery from Thatcher to Brexit’.

Martin Fletcher is a former foreign and associate editor of The Times.
