Alison Weir – Cardinal Wolsey

Alison Weir is returning to Butley Priory to talk about Cardinal Wolsey. Her novel The Cardinal: The Secret Life of Thomas Wolsey brings to life the brilliant and extraordinary life of Thomas Wolsey, the son of a Suffolk Tradesman, sent to Oxford aged 11. A story of passion, power and his spectacular and tragic fall from grace at the court of Henry VIII.

Alison Weir is Britain’s biggest selling historical female author; has published 33 books, and sold over 3 million copies. She is currently working on two concurrent series of books: the Tudor Rose trilogy of novels about Elizabeth of York, Henry VIII and Mary I, and England’s Medieval Queens, a quartet of historical non-fiction. Doors open 5.15 for a prompt 6pm start.
