Simon Sturgis: Architecture and the Climate Crisis: how the past can save the future
January 12, 2027 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

This talk by Simon Sturgis will explore the huge impact of the built environment on our climate (with specific reference to the Suffolk coast), and what should be done to mitigate this. It will look at what lessons can be learnt from the past, such as from the Moot Hall in Aldeburgh, and why re-using existing buildings is key to a more resource-efficient and low-carbon future. It will look at various examples, good and bad, including M&S Oxford Street, and the proposal for an office building over Liverpool Street Station.
